One account. 800,000+ chargers. 60 countries.

Your Plug-n-Go app opens every charger on our own network across the UK, Guernsey and Gibraltar — and gives you roaming access to over 800,000 partner chargers across Europe and beyond. Same account. Same payment method. One invoice.

What charge-point roaming actually is

“Roaming” sounds like a phone-network thing. In EV charging, it means almost the same: your Plug-n-Go account works on other operators’ chargers, without you having to create a new account, download another app or carry another RFID card.

Behind the scenes, the major European networks talk to each other through two roaming hubs — Hubject and Gireve. Plug-n-Go is connected to both. So when you tap your Plug-n-Go fob or your app at a Shell Recharge, IONITY or Fastned charger, the systems handshake quietly, the session starts, and the bill ends up on your Plug-n-Go account.

Where it works

On our own network: every Plug-n-Go charger in the UK, Guernsey and Gibraltar. Live availability, live pricing, live session monitoring.

On roaming partner networks: 800,000+ chargers across 60 countries. The networks you’ll recognise — Shell Recharge, bp Pulse, IONITY, Osprey, Fastned, E.ON, Mer, InstaVolt, TotalEnergies, Be.EV, Wenea, Zunder, Place to Plug — and many more through the Hubject and Gireve roaming hubs and the Octopus Electroverse aggregator.

Countries covered include: all 27 EU member states, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, the UK and Channel Islands, and a growing list beyond.

How to use a roaming charger

  • Open the Plug-n-Go app. Tap “All filters” and turn on “Roaming stations”. Partner chargers now appear on the map alongside ours.
  • Pick the charger you want. The app shows live availability, connector types, the partner’s pricing and any local rules.
  • Tap to start charging in the app — or use your Plug-n-Go RFID fob at the charger.
  • Pay on your Plug-n-Go account. Everything appears on one monthly invoice — no juggling apps, no juggling receipts.

What roaming costs

On Plug-n-Go chargers, you pay our standard tariff (see Pricing).

On partner networks, the network operator sets the price — and we show you that price in the app before you start. No surprises, no markup hidden in the fine print. Any roaming fees are included in the displayed price.

Real journeys — from Guernsey

The Plug-n-Go app works on the islands, on the ferry route, and across the continent. Cross the Channel and the same account that charges you at La Villiaze charges you at a Fastned charger near Saint-Malo.

Practical guides for cross-border driving:

• Guernsey to France — ferry to Saint-Malo, then charging across Brittany and Normandy on the same Plug-n-Go account. Where to plug in, what it costs, and how the French networks differ from ours.

• Gibraltar to Málaga and Santander — for the long Spanish road trips from the Rock.

• UK to Europe — coming soon.

Get on the road

Download the app, charge once on our network, then drive anywhere on the continent.
